Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power.

The 4th Annual Honeymoon Float was a Great Success (again!) (of course!)

Here’s the group at the 4th Annual Honeymoon Float Trip! Click here for more pictures! It just gets better and better every year. This year we had a great group of 19 people (we sure did miss Garland who couldn’t make it this year), 2 dogs and super weather. After a string of really hot days and nights, today was just 89 degrees! It was warm enough to enjoy swimming, but cool enough so we didn’t bake in the canoes.

Remember, you are all invited to the 5th Annual Honeymoon Float to be held August 21, 2011 (the 3rd Sunday in August)!

Happy Birthday Bryce!

Here’s the party group!

The girls got the boys to pull/push them around!

Andy grilled some great hotdogs!

How many men does it take to put up a tent?

With assistance from kids, of course!

Jessica made a great cake!

He blew them all out at once!!

(left) Sheldon loved the cake!

(above) Let the water balloon wars begin!

Babysitting Fun

The little girls took a morning nap while the older kids were at the Methodist Church VBS.

Then Jessica made a good swap of Bryce for Audrey (another homeschool girl), and the 4 girls had great fun in the wading pool!

Brittney has the greatest smile!

Another Great Fourth of July Celebration on the Farm!

This Fourth of July celebration (on the Fifth!) we were able to have most of our kids and all our grandkids over for great food, fellowship, and fireworks (half-price even!). We sure missed Garland, Justin, and Calie!

Thanks to Richard and Andy for manning the hot oil which cooked our fish (fresh-caught by Richard and I yesterday), onion rings and sweet and regular potato chips. Combined with salads and desserts, we had a grand feast!

Here’s all my grandkids enjoying the ever-enduring tire swing and great meal! I hope to post more photos later!

Jessica and Andy’s New House!

I got my first view of Jessica and Andy’s new house today during my first babysitting duty there!

The front view from the road.

The kids on the front porch.

Here’s a stitched together photo of the back yard from the NW corner. Notice the wonderful strawberry patch behind the tree on the right side!

NASCAR Sunday!

We watched the older grandkids so Jessica could run some errands this afternoon. Can you believe it, they had NEVER watched NASCAR? So, they snuggled up with Grandpa and got really serious about their race! They quickly spotted the M&M and Cheerios cars and even some of the other logos! What fun!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Jessica bought me this wonderful "Mother’s Day" corsage, and I asked Richard to take my picture after church.

Thanks to my kids who all called and visited today.

And, of course, I also called MY mother today!

"Before you were conceived, I wanted you. Before you were born, I loved you. When you were born, I saw your face and knew I was in love. Before you were an hour old, I knew I would die for you. To this day, I will."

"When you are a mother there’s no such thing as sick days or vacations or breaks because even when she is away from her children she still worries. Choosing to be a mom is choosing to allow your heart to walk outside your body."

John and Sheldon

Which of the photos below are of John and which are of his son Sheldon?

Happy Easter!

It’s Easter celebration on the farm! Both of my girls and their families enjoyed good food and fellowship with the old folks!

Not quite ready for a photo.
Just partly ready. Poor Brittney just didn’t think she wanted to stand with these other kids away from her Mama!

Richard took some photos of me and my baby! Donnie remarked that he knows what Jenny will look like when she’s old!

Enjoying Spring!

I wanted to take some photos of one of Jessica’s girlfriends (Julie) who is pregnant, and it was a gorgeous day, AND I was babysitting all FOUR of my lovely grandkids . . . so that meant a trip to the park!!!

Because it had been RAINING so much, I knew the park would be very wet. So, we fitted them all with appropriate footwear!

Julie brought along her nephews and niece, and here’s the group shot!

And even more playing fun!

Emma and Sheldon especially loved splashing in the water!!

Sheldon ran back and forth through this pool! What a great day!
