Do you truly want to live a life of meaning, fulfillment, and joy? Then you must set out each day to create that meaning, to build that fulfillment, and to live that joy.

Thunderstorm Drive

On our drive from Grand Island, NE to Cheyenne, WY for a Bud Williams Stockmanship School, we saw a lot of icky looking (is that an accurate meteorological term?) clouds and activity to the SW. It looks to us (or did we just watch too much Vortex 2 the night before?) there might be some almost tornadic activity in the black stuff to the left of the picture, and then some heavy hail in the white stuff right above the big truck. You see it?

There was some really beautiful cloud/sun activity!

And you could see forever!

On the Road again!

Today we drove from home to Ashland, KS to speak on Stockmanship. The clouds were so beautiful, and they reflected really good in the side mirror and along the side of the car!

We stayed at Rolling Hills Bed & Breakfast in Ashland, Kansas. This was our first B & B experience, and it was wonderful!

At Big Springs

Richard and I drove to Poplar Bluff tonight to be ready for a Stockmanship school tomorrow. On the way we stopped at Big Springs near Van Buren. The springs rushed out from under a big rock and then met up with the Current River nearby. The CCC built the neat rock walk-ways and also many buildings at the park.

And, I saw my first flower of the spring!

Driving in the Rain!

Today we drove 8.5 hours in mostly torrential rain from home to Elizabethtown, KY to speak on stockmanship tomorrow. If you look really carefully in the photo on the left, you can see the Arch in St. Louis. It’s mostly obscured by the rain, however! Richard is a great driver!

Arkansas Sunrise

Richard and I spoke in Hartville, Missouri on Friday afternoon and then drove to Russellville, Arkansas in order to speak there Saturday morning.

We checked out of the Russellville Super 8 Saturday morning and went to the Waffle House for breakfast. When we came out of the Waffle House, the sun was just coming up, and it was pretty enough for me to grab the camera to try and record it.
Evidently people in Arkansas don’t photograph sunrises, because a man walking by and a Waffle House employee out for a smoke break both asked us where we were from and why I was taking photos! We had a great visit with them while I continued taking photos.

On TV and in the Newspaper! We are Notorious!

Representative Blunt and his Ag Tour stopped at our farm to discuss our switchgrass field, our cattle operation, and our low-stress stockmanship.

Here’s the link to the photos I took for our Hand ‘n Hand blog.

Here’s the link to the KORL 10 report which appeared on TV tonight!

And here’s the link to the Springfield News-Leader articles in the August 12 issue. We were front page, above the fold in the actual paper!

Outakes!

Here’s some of the “outtake” photos with the best expressions from Ann’s marketing school!

[From Ann's weblog: "As is tradition, I will post the most horrid, unflattering picture just as soon as Tina gets everything uploaded. Those of you who have been to a school know that I tend to be, ahem, SLIGHTLY facially expressive, thus making for some killer blackmail pictures. The best way to combat this is to EMBRACE it."]

The best is this fella’s look, “what will she do next?”

“Have you . . . , huh, HUH?”

Another Great Marketing School

Richard, Garland and I enjoyed a Bud Williams Marketing School taught by Ann Barnhardt (left) this Friday and Saturday! And, we also enjoyed the excellent Indian feed-out last night!

Here’s the good shots I got of Ann speaking at the school!

Fun Weekend Trip

We spoke on Stockmanship at Chimney Rock Cattle Company. What a great ranch!

Marketing Follow-up School

Here’s Garland and Richard by the sign where the school was held.

I got some photos of this wonderful statue when we were here last year, and I had to get some more today!

Left: Mom got some knitting down when her skills weren’t needed on the computer.

Above: Mom and I watching and listening to Dad with great interest.

And here’s the family group, Mom, Dad, Richard, Tina and Garland.

Garland had a great time at the school and enjoyed meeting Mom and Dad for the first time.
