In 1997 Mom and I drove around northern California looking at many of the different places I’ve lived in my life. Some of them I remembered, others were just stories I’d heard many times. One of the things we wanted to do was find the house in Eureka we lived in when I started kindergarten in 1963. We had a photo of me in the driveway of our house (looking across the street), and we knew the address. Well, the street had been renamed, so then we just drove up and down looking for the houses across the street in the photo. Finally we found it! Mom took my photo in almost the same spot (we didn’t want to get as close in their driveway as the original shot was taken!) as that photo many years ago.

Here’s the group at the 4th Annual Honeymoon Float Trip! Click here for more pictures! It just gets better and better every year. This year we had a great group of 19 people (we sure did miss Garland who couldn’t make it this year), 2 dogs and super weather. After a string of really hot days and nights, today was just 89 degrees! It was warm enough to enjoy swimming, but cool enough so we didn’t bake in the canoes.

Remember, you are all invited to the 5th Annual Honeymoon Float to be held August 21, 2011 (the 3rd Sunday in August)!
