Delilah’s Third Birthday Party

Today was Delilah’s birthday party!

Bryce has started eating solid foods, though I don’t think potato salad and ranch dressing was his first food, it’s now his second (and favorite!). Jennifer started it, and here he’s reaching for more!

Dustin put on a terrific magic show and then made balloon animals for the kids.

“Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Delilah, happy birthday to you!”

Here’s Carlie with her and Byron’s two kids. Byron graduated in John’s homeschool “class.”

“This cake not only looks good, it tastes good too!”

Nathan read part of one of Delilah’s new books, and she’s enchanted!

“Look at my wonderful birthday hat, Garland!”

More Photos

Jessica had these photos of Delilah and Bryce taken just before Christmas to get out with Christmas presents. I’m late getting them posted!

Happy Birthday Delilah

Today John, his girlfriend Laura, Delilah, Jessica, Bryce’s cousin Serina, Bryce and I went to Pizza Hut to celebrate Delilah’s third birthday! Her “real party” will be Saturday night, but we wanted to do something small on the actual day.

Latest on the Cutest Grandkids in the World!

I got to play with Bryce and Delilah a little today. Bryce is almost six months old and Delilah is almost 3 years old. Where has the time gone?

Getting Older . . .

  1. Going bra-less pulls all the wrinkles out of your face.
  2. You don’t care where your spouse goes, just as long as you don’t have to go.
  3. Getting a little action means I don’t need fiber today.
  4. Getting lucky means you find your car in the parking lot.
  5. An all-nighter means not getting up to pee!

God’s Boxes

I have in my hands two boxes,
Which God gave me to hold.
He said, "Put all your sorrows in the black box,
And all your joys in the gold."

I heeded His words, and in the two boxes,
Both my joys and sorrows I stored,
But though the gold became heavier each day,
The black was as light as before.

With curiosity, I opened the black,
I wanted to find out why,
And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole,
Which my sorrows had fallen out by.

I showed the hole to God, and mused,
"I wonder where my sorrows could be!"
He smiled a gentle smile and said,
"My child, they’re all here with me."

I asked God, why He gave me the boxes,
Why the gold and the black with the hole?
"My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings,
The black is for you to let go."

We should consider all of our friends a blessing.
Send this to a friend today just to let them know you
are thinking of them and that they are a joy in your life.

A ball is a circle, no beginning, no end.
It keeps us together like our Circle of Friends.
But the treasure inside for you to see,
Is the treasure of friendship you’ve granted to me.

Today I pass the friendship ball to you.
Pass it on to someone who is a friend to you…

Study the Picture

Look at the lines the artist used to draw this picture of Christ.. It is of scenes from Christ’s life. The "longer" you look at this picture, the "more" you see.

  1. God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts.
  2. Dear God, I have a problem, it’s me.
  3. Growing old is inevitable, growing UP is optional.
  4. There is no key to happiness; the door is always open.
  5. Silence is often misinterpreted but never misquoted.
  6. Do the math, count your blessings.
  7. Faith is the ability to not panic.
  8. Laugh every day, it’s like inner jogging.
  9. If you worry, you didn’t pray. If you pray, don’t worry.
  10. As a child of God, prayer is kind of like calling home everyday.
  11. Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.
  12. The most important things in your house are the people.
  13. When we get tangled up in our problems, be still. God wants us to be still so He can untangle the knot.
  14. A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.
  15. He who dies with the most toys is still dead.

Christmas Past

I can’t sleep tonight for some reason, so was scrolling back through some old photos and found this one from Christmas 2000, our first Christmas in Bolivar! The kids were ages 14-20. My how they have grown and multiplied!

Then, that got me to looking back even more, and here are the photos from our Christmas cards each particular year:
