First Grade Halloween Party

Today was Delilah’s Halloween party at school with a 50s theme. Jessica made her skirt including the poodle!

Today I downloaded some photos from Jessica’s camera to put on my weblog!

Delilah and her friends Raven and Sage got to hold the baby alligator of Kachunga, the alligator wrestlers at the fair again this year (August 2). Click here for photos from last year.

Here’s Delilah and her class performing with Bolivar’s Electric Blue at half time of a Bolivar High School football game (October 17). I have video I’m going to try and post tomorrow.
And here’s Aunt Calie who flew in for a visit October 24-27.

Garland’s JV Football Game

Richard and I attended Garland’s last JV football game this year at Warrensburg tonight. Richard used to live in Warrensburg and had often talked about the great BBQ place there, so we had dinner there (and it’s still as good as it was!) before the game.

Garland is #58, getting set on the offensive line opposite.

Artsy Photos

I posted all my “artsy” photos from Traverse City on my pixelpost blog here. Click on a thumbnail image to see a larger image and then click “next” to see them all.

More at the MANA Conference

The Grand Traverse Resort opened their 17th story tower today for photos of the lovely bay here near Traverse City.

This was a fun photo of me reflected in the window taking a photo of the lovely countryside.
I met Connie in the late 1980s at a childbirth education conference in St. Louis, and we’ve sent Christmas cards ever since! We finally got to see each other again at this MANA conference.

The kindergarten girls did some cheerleading at the Bolivar High School football game tonight. Melisha is on Delilah’s right.

Film Festival Gala Event

Ricki Lake, actress, former talk show hostess, and star of “The Business of Being Born” attended the Motherbaby International Film Festival Gala Closing in Traverse City on the first day of MANA 2008.

I Thought of You with Love Today . . . .

I was window shopping in down-town Traverse City between Motherbaby Film Festival events when I saw this great stone memorial item. I might have bought it if I could have put it in my car trunk and brought it home, but, since I was flying, I had to settle for photographing the text which reads like this:

I thought of you with love today,
but that is nothing new,
I thought about you yesterday,
and days before that too.

I think of you in silence,
I often speak your name,
all I have are memories
and your picture in a frame.

Your memory is my keepsake,
with which I’ll never part.
God has you in His keeping,
I have you in my heart.
