 Lorraine, our wonderful church historian, gave me these two photos of John helping build our church addition in the spring of 1999. She had several of him on top of the frame and knew I’d appreciate having them. |
 John was young and didn’t mind climbing up on the rafters, so the mostly older crew members really appreciated his help with setting the rafters. |
I’m thinking of John a lot this week as three years ago this week we were planning his funeral.

Richard and I watched Jessica and Andy’s kids while they worked on their new house (our old house!) this afternoon! Here’s Richard posing them in the garden. I need a garden photo for the fair. I’m not sure I got one for the fair, but we did have fun! |

We had a big day today! First, we went fishing.
Richard caught four really nice fish (especially the one on the left!). I caught one fish. |

Then Jessica, Terese, and all the kids came over for the 3rd annual Fourth of July fish, onion rings, deep fried potatoes and fireworks! What a feast! |

I’m really late getting these movies posted, so they are out of order. This is from April 26 when Justin and Calie were down visiting.
Justin wanted to fish while he was here, so we went to a farm pond with Delilah, Bryce and Andy and had some fishing fun. Bryce is a killer casting guy with his little kid fishing pole! They didn’t catch any fish, but they sure had fun!

[Richard and I attended a bluegrass music festival yesterday, and one of the songs had to have been taken from this original poem (hanky-alert!).]
The spearmen heard the bugle sound,
And cheerily smiled the morn,
And many a brach and many a hound
Obey’d Llewelyn’s horn.
And still he blew a louder blast,
And gave a lustier cheer:
“Come, Gelert, come, wert never last
Llewelyn’s horn to hear.”
“Oh! where does faithful Gelert roam,
The flow’r of all his race?
So true, so brave; a lamb at home,
A lion in the chase!”
