Peony Life Cycle

I took a lot of photos of our peonies this spring with this collage in mind. Yes, I wrote the text also.

Egg Balancing Act

I read a deal about how you could balance an egg on it’s end only on the equinox! So, I tried! and, I was able to do it. Richard’s trying to get it done, but wasn’t able to. but, after I got two of them balanced, I wasn’t able to do any more! Very odd. Someone later said that it doesn’t matter whether it’s the equinox or not, you can either do it or not. Oh well, it was fun anyway!

Recycled Missile Silo

In our driving today we passed by an old missile silo site which had been converted into a cattle oiler and liquid mineral feeder. I made Richard stop so I could photo it. Then I added some graphics to finish the story.

Redneck Lawn Mowing!

Richard and I ate breakfast at Hardees in Clinton and, as we were leaving, Richard happened to look out the window and spot this. From the one side it’s a fancy riding lawn mower. But wait . . .

. . . what’s this (circled in red)?

Well, of course, it’s the accessory every red-blooded redneck man needs on his riding mower, a rifle case!

Buying a Ferris IS 4500, 72″ option paired with a powerful 35-hp Vanguard BIG BLOCK liquid cooled engine, $12,000; buying a scoped rifle and rifle case, $1000; combining the two for those days when very stupid deer cross the yard when you are mowing, priceless!

Morning Photos

As soon as I got up I could tell it was going to be a beautiful sunrise! I got my camera on the tripod and headed out to try and shoot it. Unfortunately, I didn’t have my light settings right for the shots with the tiny sliver of moon in them! Bummer!

Below are reflection shots in two different windows of the barn.

Then I took some flower photos on my walk later in the morning!

Arkansas Sunrise

Richard and I spoke in Hartville, Missouri on Friday afternoon and then drove to Russellville, Arkansas in order to speak there Saturday morning.

We checked out of the Russellville Super 8 Saturday morning and went to the Waffle House for breakfast. When we came out of the Waffle House, the sun was just coming up, and it was pretty enough for me to grab the camera to try and record it.
Evidently people in Arkansas don’t photograph sunrises, because a man walking by and a Waffle House employee out for a smoke break both asked us where we were from and why I was taking photos! We had a great visit with them while I continued taking photos.

Grandkids at the Park

Since I had to come into town today for errands, I decided to photograph all the grandkids since Jessica watches Sheldon on Tuesdays. Then I found out Sheldon’s cousin Lucas is in town, so we added him to the photo shoot for some great shots!

I love this shot above. Everyone is doing something different!

And, of course, the “kissing cousins” to the right is great! Note the scrape on Sheldon’s leg and the bruise on Lucas’s cheek! They are ALL little boy!
