| We had a sliding glass door into the back yard, but the door kept sticking. We could see a buggered up area of the track, and figured that was the problem. Because sliding glass doors are a big energy waster and because we were getting to where we about couldn't open it, we decided to take it out and put in a regular door. Well, in the process of taking out the old, John found out that the floor joist under the area which stuck was rotten and sagging, hence the problems with the slide! That made the job a bit longer, but he did mange to get this far in a weekend! The outside is secure, just needs paint. The inside it also pretty tight, just needs a bit more caulk and then painting. It looks like the rotting came from water running down from the porch to the wall, so John put in a flashing thing to keep that from happening to the new floor joist! | |

![]() The hood and top of the Bronco were pretty rusted. John started out by grinding/sanding the old paint off |
![]() Then the boys taped paper over the areas we did NOT want painted |
![]() Then we put on primer and then the blue. |
![]() And here's the finished product! Now the bits of the black trim which are peeling really stands out! That's our next project! |

The flag is coming along!

Jennifer clipped all the dogs, and then the weather turned cool! So, we got
shirts for Petey and Paige.

John has painted the "We the People" on the door and corrected the
flag from 12 stripes to 13 stripes (oops!). Now we are waiting for no rain on
his day off so he can paint the flag.

| Here's Justin's new car! | |

Justin got his driver's license Feb 4, 2001. He drove Jessica's Mustang for
the test because our Bronco was broke down, and the van just doesn't lend itself
well to driver's tests (though Jessica did pass in it, probably because the
tester felt sorry for her!).

Here's a photo of John Jan 28, 2002 without many
of his piercings and with his hair cut. He looks much better!

The whole family October 27, 2001

Here they are in early October 2001. You can see that Justin, Jennifer and
Jessica are about the same height, though John still has them beat by a lot!
And, yes the jewelry on John's face is going through "real" holes.
Don't even ask!

And here they are with their pets. John decided not to try and hoist Peg onto
his shoulder (and she's not "his" dog anyway!). You can see they were
standing next to the house before the painting started!
