Every year at this time Richard has his work convention in Osage Beach at Tan-Tar-A Resort (work pays!). We are off in an hour or so for 3 days of fun (for me) and work (for Richard). We usually try and fit in a shopping trip to the Outlet Mall in the nearby town too!
The bad news, though, is that my new (June) laptop decided to slowly die starting Saturday night. The good news, it went slowly enough I was able to transfer files in safe mode to my external hard drive. Then, I dug out my old (two computers ago!) desktop computer, hooked it up to the external hard drive, and I was pretty well set to go. I took my laptop to Best Buy, they checked it over, and it appears the hard drive and/or controller is going out. Goodie! They have shipped it off, and it won’t be back for about 3 weeks! At least I had bought the extended warranty, so this is all covered. I don’t buy warranties on anything except computers, and I’ve come out good on all of them. Well, time to finish packing and get on the road!
