Labor Day Fishing

Richard, Garland and I decided we would take our chances with the crowds and go fishing at Bennett Springs today. We are SO glad we did. First, even though there appeared to be LOTS of people there, there really weren’t that many more fishing than any other trip. Second, the weather was perfect, mid 80s. And, third, we all three absolutely SLAYED fish today! I don’t mean just caught our limit, I mean we caught lots and lots and lots of fish (letting all go except our 4 each). This morning I caught fish after fish after fish. One I strung up was a really nice, big one too! Garland used a fly rod for the first time today, and after Richard strung his 4th and got out, he let Garland use his waders, and Garland really got the hang of it quickly! He caught 5, his max ever!

“Now smile for the camera!”

Here we are with our catch. We will eat about half them tonight and send the rest home with Garland so he and his mom can enjoy eating fish also!
