Richard and I celebrated the 4th by fishing today. They were calling for rain, and the holiday was in the middle of the week, so we hoped there were be less people than a usual holiday/weekend day. And we were right!
I didn’t start out too good. Just one little fish I threw back about 10 am, then nothing until lunch. We feasted on various goodies we had brought (and some items we had to buy at the pro shop because we forgot to bring all the food!), and went out to try again. I think the key to my afternoon success was when, during lunch, Richard said, “I have 3 fish for my dinner, what are YOU going to eat?”
We went out again, and Richard caught his 4th (limit) and got out. I caught a nice fish and kept on fishing. Then, within about 20 minutes I caught 3 more nice fish! For the first time, I caught my limit of fish at Bennett. The first year I think I caught 4, but that was when the limit was 5. I had to have Richard photograph the momentous event!
