Garland’s Football Game

Richard and I were thrilled to attend Garland’s football varsity football game last night. He’s a freshman, so doesn’t get to play much at the varsity games. He got to this game though, as Harrisonville quickly dominated the game and so the second team got to get some good practice! Unfortunately, even though we watched carefully, neither Richard nor I saw Garland in the three plays he was in on! He’s number 97 just to the left of the “50” block. He plays Tight End and Line Backer. The final score was Harrisonville 38, Northeast, 8.

The marching band gave several good performances, including the playing of the National Anthem.

Here’s the Harrisonville Mascot, a Wildcat. I put the cheerleader photo in for the boys!

See number 49 heading to the NE punter? That’s Michael Keck, and just that morning he signed with Mizzou (University of Missouri) for next year. Garland introduced us after the game, as he’s been a strong influence in Garland’s playing this year.

The Harrisonville quarterback, Sean Ransburg, was great! Here he’s going back for the pass.

This was a good sequence. The player with his arms spread wide does NOT get the ball; it’s a fake. The one behind does.

Here’s Garland and his proud father after the game!
