We sorted off the 4 heifers (primips for my midwifery friends) due to calve soon and have them closer to the house to keep an eye on them. During chores tonight we saw that #764 was in labor, so we kept an eye on her. We stayed in the house while she labored and watched her easily shoot the calf out. Then I stepped out the back door to take some photos. This shot was within a couple of minutes of birth, time-stamped at 6:29 pm. |
