Here’s Delilah just before her big acting debut! Her “Grandpa Sparks” was in charge of publicity for the ribbon-cutting of the Bolivar YMCA, and they asked if he knew of a cute little girl to be part of the program. Yes, as a matter of fact, he did know that Delilah would be perfect.

They carefully explained to Delilah that she was supposed to take the basketball onto the riser and hand it to Congressman Roy Blunt.
However, instead of shooting the basket himself, he lifted Delilah up she she could make the shot! She took the change in script in stride, and made the shot (well, she missed the first shot, but Zaq was right there to catch the missed shot and pass the ball back to Delilah to make the next shot!
According to the “script,” Delilah was supposed to exit the stage after helping Rep Blunt with the basketball, so Susan and Mark were quietly calling her from the side, not knowing that those “in charge” on the stage had again changed the plan and wanted her to stay on the stage. She managed the mixed communications and stayed on the stage to be a part of the ribbon-cutting!
