We drove from near Denver through the Rockies. Doesn’t this blowing snow look like fun?

Then we headed out on a “scenic route” highway to Leadville, CO. We really enjoyed it last time we were here (in October 2005) and had time to visit it again.Yes, there was some snow on the road, but it was no match for our front-wheel drive rental car!

This old building was being remodeled into apartments when we were here before. It’s all finished and they are still renting units now. When I get home I will dig out the photos I took of it back then.

I know I took a photo just like this before. I’ll find and post it later.

Here’s Richard and I with the neat church between/behind us.

Here’s a shot of downtown Leadville. Note the snow on the big truck.

And here’s some of the mountains looking out from Leadville.

This neat scene is on the side of an old building. The Tabor Opera House is on the right.

We stopped to get a photo of this neat scene just after leaving Leadville. See the horse in the lower right? Click on this image to see a larger one and you should see him then.

Just an artsy photo!
We drove from Leadville back to Interstate 70 and on to Rifle, CO. We had a little trouble finding a room, but we finally found one.
