A couple of days ago they started forecasting a lot of rain for Sunday night-Monday. Then yesterday they started using the “S” word . . . Snow! Now they are saying we might have a record snowfall Monday night through Tuesday! Here are the warnings. Let’s see how close they get!

* Through Monday afternoon
* heavy rain will develop over eastern Kansas and far western Missouri late this afternoon and spread eastward across southern and central Missouri tonight and Monday. Widespread rainfall amounts of one to three inches are expected by Monday morning… with locally higher amounts possible.
* Saturated soil conditions and lack of vegetation will enhancerunoff and flooding of low water crossings… low lying roadways… streams and rivers.
A Flood Watch means there is a heightened potential for flooding based on current forecasts.
Monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action if flooding develops.

… Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Monday afternoon hrough Tuesday afternoon…
Minor accumulations of sleet will be possible Monday afternoon… combined with snow accumulations of four to seven inches from Monday evening into Tuesday morning. A heavy band of snow could impact areas along a line from Branson to Fort Leonard Wood Missouri.
A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow… sleet… or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
