Rain and more Rain!

Here’s a shot of the radar this morning at 7:13. Our house is near the red star.

Notice that the entire area is in a flash flood warning with some severe thunderstorm warnings tossed in for good measure. And, they are calling for possibly even more severe weather in the form of tornadoes later today. The ground is so totally soaked that literally no more water can go into it. Almost everything is running off into streams, roads, etc. It’s a mess. I try and remember two years ago when we were in the third year of a really nasty drought and we would have given anything for rain like this . . . .

We are very lucky (good planning on Richard’s part when he bought this farm) that our house is well up the hill from any flooding. We do have a stream running through the farm, but our water gaps are well designed and have made it through all the previous flooding well. And, we do know how to fix fence if they don’t hold. The cows are well up the hill and will make it through just fine if they aren’t hit by lightening!

Oh, and then we heard the real kicker this morning . . . there’s a chance of SNOW Friday night/Saturday morning!!!!
