Niagara Falls, Afternoon Day Nine

Elizabeth and I enjoyed a great walk this afternoon.

Here we are with the double rainbow in the background!

And the rainbow went all the way around and in front of the big faris wheel.

After we walked around and past the Horseshoe Falls I photoed these seagulls resting on the rocks and swimming around in the calmer waters before the falls.

There were a lot of take-offs and landings.

As we walked farther upstream we looked back and still saw rainbows! The Horseshoe Falls is breaking over at the right side of the photo.

You can see the falls a little better in this one.

The mist is from the Horseshoe Falls.

We walked quite a ways up river and up onto this point where we could see back over the falls (right where the mist is) and the skyscrapers of the Niagara Falls area overlooking the falls.

As we walked back, the sun was setting.

This sign was really cool as it morphed the US flag and the Canadian flag. Click here to see the video of how it changes.

Then, I tried this late evening shot without a tripod, and it worked!! I rested my arms on a post. The long shutter speed gives the falls an interesting look.
