When I bought my new DSLR, I just bought the body and I’ve used Mom’s manual film lenses while I’ve researched lenses and qualities before buying a good auto lens. I’ve been watching the B&H Photo “used stuff” page, and finally I found a Tamron 18-250/3.5-6.3 DI II AF in good condition with good reviews, so I bought it. It arrived this afternoon, and I went right out to take photos! I think it’s going to be great!
