This was the sunrise at Kansas City International Airport as I’m heading out for the Midwives Alliance of North America Board meeting and conference. I missed getting a shot of the setting full moon which was awesome! My check-in took a while because Northwest had cancelled my original flight and re-booked me on one which would arrive too late for my first meetings tonight. So, I rescheduled on Monday, which, of course, they didn’t have! Luckily I was quite early (7 am for a 9:44 flight!), so she was able to work it out. During the process, she said, “how about flying through Minneapolis leaving at 10:40 and arriving Baltimore at 4:30?” at which I said, “interesting, THAT’s the flight I originally had and they told me it was cancelled . . . .” I like the timing on this one better though, so she nicely got me off stand-by (I’m thinking that means some other unlucky person who checks in later will get my stand-by position) and I’m set. Well, except for her admonishing me to find the gate in Detroit QUICKLY so I don’t miss my connection. I said I had over an hour, and she said that might not be enough time!! Richard and I flew through Detroit when we went to West Virginia in February, so at least I have a passing knowledge of it. My fingers are crossed! I’ll write more from Baltimore.
