Richard and I try and sample the Indian food anywhere we get a chance. The Gem of India in Springfield is our favorite, and we try and eat there at least once a month.
Today we ate at Swagat Indian Restaurant in northwest Kansas City which just happens to be owned by the brother of the Gem of India owner! We didn’t know that until after we ate our really good meal!
On our way to West Virginia this year I took advantage of my new cellular card internet access and found the Tandoor Fine Indian Cuisine restaurant along the way in Lexington. We missed their lunch buffet, but really enjoyed dinner there.
One of our favorites in our travels was in Manassass, VA when we went to speak in West Virginia last year and visited DC during the weekend between talks. I can’t find a web page for them, but believe it was Spice’s Indian Food. We happened to go on an evening when they had a belly dancer, making it an even more special night.
We had a good lunch at India’s Clay Oven in Lone Tree (just south of Denver) last December with Ann Barnhardt of Bud Williams Marketing. We’d recommend it if you are in that area.
Last year in Regina, Saskatchwean we ate lunch at the India House. It had a pretty small buffet, but was pretty good.
The worst Indian food we’ve had was in Boulder, CO in fall 2005 when we were there for the MANA Conference. I can’t remember the name, but it was the winner of the “best Indian food in Boulder” award. If it was the best, they must not have very many in Boulder!
